Join us in 2019 for a fun-filled cycling vacation through the "Most Beautiful Villages of France" in the colorful Alsace-Lorraine region! Beginning in Strasbourg, you'll enjoy discovering this cycling and "foodie" paradise that combines the cultures of Germany and France. Along the way, you'll ride past the famed vineyards of the Alsace Wine Route (over 170 km in length!) while cycling through rolling hills dotted with Alsatian half-timbered villages, medieval castles, and wine growers who produce some of the most noted dry Rieslings in the world as well as highly aromatic Gewürztraminer wines. In addition, Alsace is also the main beer-producing region of France. For food lovers, Alsace's chefs utilize organic ingredients from the local farms and mountains in creating their menus. The region is known for it's Bäckeoffe casseroles, tarte flambee' (an Alsatian pizza), and the finest fruit pastries in all of France!
There are five key villages in Alsace that are listed on the official list of the "Most Beautiful Villages of France" and you will experience them all plus many others at your leisure. They are the following:

Day 1 - Welcome to France!
Following your arrival into Strasbourg, we'll transfer you to our four-star hotel where, following check-in, you can build up your bike with the assistance of our professional mechanics. This evening, we'll have our "Welcome Meeting and Dinner" in the city center!
Day 2 - Strasbourg to Obernai.
After breakfast, we'll transfer to the scenic village of La Petite Pierre where your ride will begin. Today's route has it all - dreamlike vineyards, ancient forests, castles, waterfalls - on stunning roads that wind through the foothills and national parks of the Vosges Mountains. This afternoon, following our arrival into colorful Obernai, we'll check-in for two nights at our four-star hotel before exploring the lively restaurant and brasseries for dinner on your own.
Day 3 - St. Quirin Loop.
Today's route will take us into the heart of the Vosges Mountains as we ride to the town of Saint Quirin, one of Alsace's official "Most Beautiful Villages of France!" Along the way, you'll have the option to climb the Col du Donon as well as the ascent up the Mont St Odile, where the views stretch all the way into Germany. This evening, we'll enjoy a specially-prepared group dinner at the hotel.
Day 4 - Obernai to Eguisheim.
Get your camera's ready! We'll roll out of Obernai on the Alsace Wine Road as we discover some of the region's best-known villages like Barr, Mittelbergheim, and Haute Koenigsbourg, with its famed chateau! Following our arrival into charming Eguisheim, we'll check-in to our cozy three-star hotel for two nights before exploring the local restaurants for dinner.
Day 5 - Alsace Postcard Loop / Colmar Visit.
Enjoy a relaxing breakfast before getting ready for a truly memorable ride on tiny Alsatian country roads that wind through the hills and vineyards. Highlights today include such postcard villages as Ribeauville, Hunawihr, Riquewihr, Kayserberg, and Niedermorschwin! This evening, we'll transfer to nearby Colmar for a festive group dinner featuring Bäckeoffe or a "tarte flambee' along with some bottles of Riesling!
Day 6 - Eguisheim to Strasbourg / Overnight Options or Late Afternoon Departures.
Spend your final morning in colorful Eguisheim before our final ride on the Alsation Wine Route towards the village of Thann. This afternoon, following lunch in the country, we'll return to historic Strasbourg where you can spend an additional evening (at your own expense) or choose a late-afternoon departure (after 5:00 pm).
