YOUR ANSWERS TO THOSE IMPORTANT QUESTIONS

 

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF MY TOUR?

• All transfers to-and-from the listed airport and/or train station unless otherwise noted.
• All hotel accommodations in our selected properties. All hotels are between three-star and five-star. All have private bath and shower. 
• All breakfasts and specified group lunches / dinners as outlined on each vacation itinerary. 
• All gratuities, taxes, and fees for all hotels, meals, and porter services. 
• Daily cycling on either selected routes detailing the best roads of each region or on official race routes from the past and present that are simply legendary! 
• All daily transfers, luggage transfers, and on-road sag support in either our autobus or our sag vans. 
• All daily prepared routes with maps and cue sheets detailing each day’s route with each turn and its corresponding mileage. This is all outlined for you in advance. 
• Professional mechanics that will build your bike up for you and perform the daily maintenance if needed, 
• Professional staff with a ratio of 1:6 so everyone gets the needed attention during the tour. 
• Daily supply of bottled water and other goodies to keep you fueled on the road! 
• First aid and cell phone communications
• Pre-departure packet detailing the entire vacation, our hotels, contact info, what to bring, how to prepare, how to pack your bike, and other essential info guaranteed to get you ready for your vacation! 
 

HOW BIG ARE YOUR GROUPS?

Our groups vary in size. Minimum group size is 6.


WHAT IF I WANT TO COME EARLY OR STAY LATE?

AAA Travel is our travel agency. You can arrange all of your vacation planning through our office with the assistance of our AAA Representative, Shelley Lulow. WHERE DO I MEET THE GROUP?

On each tour itinerary, there is a listed pickup spot and departure spot. These are most commonly the nearest international airport unless otherwise noted. We will meet you at the assigned airports and transfer you to our hotel so you don’t need to bother with the difficulties of a foreign language, strange country, local trains, local taxis and jet lag. We will likewise drop you off at the listed airports and/or train stations that are listed so you can get home or on to your next destination without any worries. 
 

DO I NEED TO PURCHASE A TRAVEL PROTECTION PLAN?

We recommend that you purchase a travel protection plan to help protect you and your travel investment against the unexpected. The protection plan includes coverage for Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Emergency Medical and Emergency Evacuation/ Repatriation, Trip Delay, Baggage Delay, and more. WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

Outside of our “two week free look” for guests who sign up in advance for a vacation without having seen the itinerary, our cancellation policy is as follows:

If you have to cancel for any reason after having made a deposit and having seen the program in full and you are not in a “free look” 2-week window, your deposit will not be refunded. If you are in a “free look” 2-week window and decide to cancel, your deposit will be refunded to you in full with no questions asked. After the normal 2-week window has passed, normal cancellation policies go into effect immediately.

Cancellation Fees:

More than 90 days prior to departure: Deposit only

61-90 days prior: Deposit plus Cancellation Fee of 50% of the original tour vacation price.

31 – 60 days prior: Deposit plus Cancellation Fee of 75% of the original tour vacation price.

0-30 days prior: Deposit plus Cancellation Fee of 100% of the original tour vacation price.

We reserve the right to cancel any vacation. We will do so within 30 –45 days from the beginning of the vacation so you will not be at risk with losing any money in regards to airfare. If this does happen, a full refund will take place immediately of all money you have paid. However, we are not responsible for unused airline ticket fees.

All fees will be applied to the vacation for which you are signed up. If you have to cancel for any reason, all monies paid will be applied to the vacation you signed up for and cannot be forwarded or applied to another vacation.

 

WHAT IF I'M TRAVELING ALONE?

Standard rooming is double occupancy. However, if you are coming solo, we will assign you an agreeable roommate of the same sex and, in many cases, close to the same age. If you want to have your own room, you can do so by paying the single supplement that is listed with each program.


DO I BRING MY OWN BIKE AND, IF SO, HOW DO I TRANSPORT IT?

Our guests bring their own bikes with them and we assemble them for you once you have arrived. Since many of the programs involve mountainous terrain, our guests prefer to have their own bikes with them because they are comfortable with it and fits them properly. There is nothing more frustrating than being on a dream trip and not having a bike that fits you properly.

To transport your bike, we recommend a hard-shell bike case. They will last you a lifetime. In addition, on international flights, your bike will normally fly free if you bring it along as your second piece of luggage. Please call your airline in advance to confirm this as the airlines are constantly changing their policies. Upon your arrival, our professional mechanics will help you with assembling your bike at the beginning of the trip.
 

WHAT IF I DON'T PLAN ON RIDING OR AM A NON-CYCLIST?

If you don't ride or don't feel like riding, there are other activities that we can help you plan so you can enjoy the program on your own level and according to your desires. Thus, you can spend the day wine tasting, playing golf, fly fishing, visiting a chateau, or hiking in the countryside if you desire. If you have something specific in mind ahead of time that you would like to do, please let us know and we will set it up for you.
 

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE INFORMATION

Regarding your arrival and departure times, please don’t finalize your travel plans until after you have received your Pre-Tour Pack or our deposit confirmation email. Both contain important travel information that you will need to follow when making your arrangements. On domestic tours, you are encouraged to arrive before 2 p.m. on the first day of your vacation. As for your departure, many of our hotels have complimentary shuttle service to the airport so you have more flexibility.
 

PRE-TOUR PLANNING

A complete Pre-Tour Pack will be sent to you upon receipt of your final payment. The packet will contain all of the information you need to help plan your upcoming cycling vacation. They contain everything from what gears to bring, how to pack your bike, sponsor and hotel info, travel guidance, safety lessons, daily itineraries, outlines of famous race routes or upcoming climbs, and much more.

All guests are required to sign a Waiver of Release of Liability prior to their tour and are to include it with their final payment. Because of the inherent risks with bicycle touring, no one is allowed to join us on a vacation without having first been confirmed that we have received their signed copy of this release form. In addition, all guests are required to wear a helmet the entire time they are on the bike during our vacations for safety reasons. Finally, because some of our cycling routes are on roads with little or no shoulder, you should be comfortable riding around vehicular traffic. 
 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

We reserve the right to change our schedules due to conditions which are beyond our control. All prices are subject to change until final payment has been received because of fluctuations in foreign currency and the U.S. Exchange rate. All reserved clients should read all of these details over in our policies information that they will receive upon receipt of their final payment.
