July 8: Welcome to the Dordogne Region of France / Short Ride and Welcome Dinner
We will meet you at 12 noon at the Bordeaux TGV Train Station and transfer you to the village of St. Cyprien and our luxury hotel tucked away in the Dordogne countryside. Following check-in for the next five nights, assemble your bike with the assistance of our professional mechanics or fine tune your rental bike before enjoying a short spin to loosen up. This evening, kick back and enjoy our “Welcome Meeting and Dinner” at the chateau.

July 9: “Most Beautiful Villages of the Dordogne”
Following a hearty breakfast overlooking the French countryside, get ready to discover some of the most beautiful villages in France as we ride to such destinations as Beynac-et-Cazenac, la Roque Gageac, Sarlat-la-Caneda, Domme, and others. Today will be filled with a lot of “WOW!” moments as you ride the spectacular roads and experience these charming villages firsthand. Following our return, relax with a dip in the pool before catching the live finish of Stage 6 live on TV. This evening, explore the local “brasseries” in St. Cyprien for dinner on your own.

July 10: Montignac and the Lascaux Caves
After breakfast and a “cafe au lait,” you’ll ride some of the most stunning roads of the entire week as we cycle through the Vezere River Valley with it’s limestone cliffs, fortified castles, and some more of “France’s most beautiful villages” such as Limeul and St. Leon-sur-Vezere. Following our arrival in Montignac, we’ll visit the world-famous Lascaux Caves. Discovered in 1940 by a group of teenagers, these caves (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) contain about 600 wall paintings and about 1,500 engravings depicting prehistoric life. This evening, we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner at our hotel prepared by our private chef!

July 11: Dordogne Valley Ride / Tour de France Stage 10
Today you will experience the Tour de France up-close as the race heads to Bergerac for the finish of Stage 10! We’ll begin our day by riding through the Dordogne River Valley to our viewing spot for today’s stage. Following lunch, get ready to witness all the craziness and pageantry of the Tour de France with the Publicity Caravan. Afterwards, cheer on the Yellow Jersey and your other favorites as they race all-out for the stage win! This evening, celebrate your day at the Tour with dinner in St. Cyprien.

July 12: Castles, Castles, and More Castles / Farewell Dinner
Our final day of cycling in the Dordogne will feature visiting the region’s most famous castles at Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, Fayrac Marqueyssac and the Chateau les Milandes, which was Josephine Baker’s castle. Following our visits, we’ll ride to another one of “France’s most beautiful villages,” Belves (the name of Belvès literally means “beautiful view” in the local Occitan dialect), and enjoy lunch in the center of town at a local cafe. Afterwards, we’ll cycle back to our hotel to catch the live finish of today’s stage 11 before enjoying our private chef’s menu for our “Farewell Dinner!”

After a leisurely breakfast, it’s time to say “au revoir” to our luxury hideaway and the Dordogne as we transfer you to the Bordeaux TGV Train Station. Estimated time of arrival is 12 noon. From here, you can get a high-speed train to Paris or stay in the Bordeaux area for a few days.
