Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Fredericksburg and the Texas Hill Country / Cain City Loop and Welcome Dinner
We will meet you at 10 am at our San Antonio hotel near the Riverwalk before we transfer you to the wide-open spaces of the Texas Hill Country and the lively town of Fredericksburg. Upon our arrival, check-in for the next four nights at the four-star Albert Hotel before assembling your road bike with the assistance of our professional mechanic or have your rental bike adjusted. This afternoon, we’ll ride a portion of the Cain City Loop for an easy spin as it meanders past peach orchards and pecan groves. This evening, kick back and enjoy our “Welcome Meeting and Dinner” at the hotel.

Day 2: Willow City Loop
Following breakfast at our hotel, get ready to discover one of our all-time favorite rides in the Hill Country, the Willow City Loop! The postcard views on today’s route feature rolling hills, deep valleys, rock formations, backcountry creeks and a true “Old West” feel as we pass the historic town of Willow City. We’ll enjoy a picnic lunch along the way under the shade of some oak trees while savoring the wide open views. This afternoon, following our return to the hotel, relax in the hotel’s pool before discovering some of the wonderful restaurants on Main Street in Fredericksburg.

Day 3: Enchanted Rock / William Chris Winery
Begin your day with a full Texas breakfast before riding to one of the Hill Country’s most amazing geologic features, Enchanted Rock! This is the largest pink granite dome in the United States and has held a special place in the cultures of the Lipan Apache, Comanche, and Tonkawa tribes. Following our mid-ride lunch and return to our hotel, we will shuttle you to the William Chris Vineyards where we’ll sample their award-winning wines and learn about why the Texas Hill Country has become such a wine destination. This evening, we’ll enjoy a delicious group dinner in town at one of Fredericksburg’s marquee restaurants.

Day 4: Luckenbach Day
Following breakfast and coffee, we will depart on our ride that meanders through picturesque farmland and ranches before arriving at the charming trading post of Luckenbach, Texas! Though it was made famous by Waylon Jennings, Luckenbach was actually started by German settlers in the 1840’s. The town was first established as a community trading post, one of a few that never broke an agreement with the Comanche Indians, with whom they traded. After our visit, ride back to Fredericksburg or chose a van shuttle. This afternoon, visit the Pacific War Museum in town before enjoying dinner on your own this evening.

Day Five: Cherry Mountain Loop Spin / Transfers
Enjoy your final breakfast at our hotel before one last ride in the Hill Country on a portion of the Cherry Mountain Loop before returning to town and checking out. At 12:30 pm, we will depart Fredricksburg with wonderful memories of having experienced the best of the Hill Country. Our scheduled arrival at our hotel is 2 pm; for the San Antonio Airport it will be 3 pm. If you need to be in San Antonio earlier, transfers can be arranged.
